CastXQ Privacy Policy
Who we are
CastXQ is a Garmin Connect IQ watch app operated by Joinfuns (Taiwan), independently of Garmin. Contact admin@joinfuns.com for any privacy question. Data the app sends to our backend is received by us, not by Garmin.
Summary
CastXQ does not ask for your name, email, Garmin account, location, health or activity data. If usage statistics are on, quote requests include a random install ID so we can count active installs and see which symbols are being followed. You can turn this off at any time without affecting quotes, and we delete the data automatically after the periods below.
What the app sends
- Quote requests: the symbols in your list (for example BTCUSDT) and, if usage statistics are on, a random install ID.
- Background glance updates: about every 30 minutes, the one symbol shown in the glance. These requests never include the install ID. You can turn them off in the app settings (Update home symbol in background).
- Search requests: the text you type and how many results to return. Searches never include the install ID, and we do not store them.
The install ID is a random number created on your watch the first time it is needed. It is not derived from your watch's serial number, Garmin account or any other identifier, and we have no way to link it to you.
What we store and for how long
| Data | Why | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
| Install ID with the first and last time it was seen | Count active installs | Deleted automatically 90 days after the install was last seen, together with its daily records |
| Which symbols each install requested on each day (UTC date only) | Count how many different installs followed each symbol in the last 30 days | 35 days |
| Totals such as "120 installs followed BTC in the last 30 days" | Decide which markets to collect | Kept; these totals contain no install IDs |
We do not store IP addresses, device models or locations, and our servers do not keep request logs containing install IDs or search text. Copies in routine database backups are removed when those backups expire.
Turning statistics off
In Garmin Connect (or Connect IQ) on your phone, open CastXQ's settings and turn off Share anonymous usage stats. From then on the app stops sending the install ID; quotes keep working. Records already stored are deleted on the schedule above. Because the install ID cannot be linked to you, we cannot look up records by email; turning statistics off and the automatic deletion are how we honour objection and deletion requests.
On your watch
The app stores your symbol list, the last quotes it received, the install ID and small status values on the watch. Uninstalling the app removes them.
Who else receives data
- Cloudflare (network proxy) and our cloud servers in Japan carry the requests. Like any internet service they see your phone's IP address while handling a request, under their own policies.
- Market-data providers receive only symbol names, requested on our own schedule. They never receive install IDs or anything about you.
- We do not sell data, show ads, or share install data with anyone else.
Legal basis (EEA/UK users)
We process the install ID and daily symbol records on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how many people use CastXQ and which markets to support. You can object at any time with the setting above.
This website
castx.xyz uses Google Tag Manager to load analytics tools such as Google Analytics. They use cookies to measure visits: pages viewed, referring site, device and browser type, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Advertising features are off. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off by default. The watch app does not use Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Children
CastXQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes to what the app sends will also be noted in the app's release notes.
