CastXM for Apple Watch Privacy Policy

Effective October 30, 2026. This policy covers CastXM for Apple Watch and its iPhone app. CastXM is operated by Joinfuns (Taiwan). The Garmin version has its own privacy policy.

In short

CastXM keeps your pet on your Apple Watch and iPhone. It has no account and never sends your pet, steps, calendar or any personal data to us. The iPhone app may show one small ad card from Google AdMob, which connects to the internet; the Apple Watch app never shows ads.

What stays on your devices

• Your pet, eggs, keepsakes, reminder settings and the name you give your pet are saved in the app's storage on your Apple Watch, or on your iPhone if you raise your pet there without a watch.
• The iPhone app keeps a copy of your pet so you can see it and help care for it. Your watch and iPhone send each other your pet's latest state over Apple's WatchConnectivity, the same private connection your watch uses for other apps. It is not sent to us.
• A small summary of your pet is saved where the watch face complication can read it, so the complication can show how your pet is doing.
• The iPhone also keeps a handoff backup of your pet, so a new or reinstalled watch can bring it back. It holds game data only, without step counts or anything derived from steps. Like other app data, it is included in your iPhone's iCloud or computer backup.

Deleting CastXM from your watch and iPhone deletes all of this data. We cannot recover it, because we never receive it.

Steps (Apple Health)

If you allow it, CastXM reads your step count from Apple Health on your watch to turn walks into snacks and to check walk promises. It only reads steps. It never writes to Apple Health, never reads any other health data, and never sends your steps anywhere. You can change this any time in Settings › Health on your iPhone. Data from Apple Health is never used for advertising or shared with anyone.

Calendar

• Add to Calendar on the iPhone opens the system event screen with the mission or story already filled in. You decide whether to save it. CastXM does not need calendar access for this.
• If you turn on Avoid busy calendar times, CastXM reads only the start and end times of busy events in the next 24 hours on your iPhone and sends those times to your watch, so pet reminders wait until you are free. It never reads event titles, places, notes or attendees, and the times never leave your watch and iPhone. Turning the setting off stops this.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, reminders are scheduled on the device your pet lives on: your watch, or your iPhone if you raise your pet without a watch. No server sends them. Care reminders are limited to two a day, and you can also get one when a mission ends or at care times you set. None arrive during sleep hours or vacation. You can turn them off in the app, in the Watch app on your iPhone, or in Settings › Notifications on your iPhone.

Ads on iPhone

• One small card labeled “Ad” may appear at the end of the collection in the iPhone app, at most three times a day and never on your first day. Ads never appear on Apple Watch, in widgets, complications or notifications. Seeing or tapping an ad never changes your pet or any reward.
• Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show ads and measure them, Google's software in the iPhone app may process your IP address (to estimate an approximate location), device identifiers, which ads you see and tap, and app performance and crash information. Google handles this data under its own policies; see how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
• CastXM does not ask for permission to track you, so your advertising identifier (IDFA) is not available to Google. Ads are limited to content suitable for a general audience.
• Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area and the UK, CastXM asks for your choice before any ad is requested. You can change it any time: tap the bell at the top of the iPhone app and choose Ad privacy options under Ads. If you do not agree, the card shows no ad and the game works the same.
• Ad requests never include your pet, steps, health data, calendar or anything else from the game.

What we do not collect

We do not receive your name, email, Apple ID, location, health data, step history, calendar or device identifiers. Apart from the ads described above, the app contains no analytics or tracking.

Apple

Downloading the app, App Store purchases and crash reports that you choose to share with developers are handled by Apple under the Apple privacy policy, not by this policy.

Children

CastXM is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13.

Changes

If a future version needs new data, we will update this policy before that version is released.
